Orange County Shines with Generosity and Community Spirit

Orange County is buzzing with excitement as local groups come together to support education and cultural events in the area. This past week, the Ebell Club of Canyon Hills lighted up the community with their philanthropic spirit, organizing a back-to-school drive that has left many students smiling. With donations totaling over _$1,000_, the club provided essential school supplies for students in need.

Back-to-School Drive Delivers Hope

Members of the Ebell Club demonstrated their commitment to education by gathering much-needed supplies like pens, pencils, markers, crayons, glue sticks, and spiral notebooks. This service project, well-organized by first vice presidents Heather Terjung and Donna Frize, aimed to ease the burden on families who may struggle to provide these essential items.

The supplies were delivered to the Orange Unified School District office, where they will be distributed to students who need them most. The Ebell Club, which welcomes all women in the community to become members, is dedicated to making a positive impact. Current club president Barbara Shaia leads the enthusiastic group, alongside vice presidents Sharon Woodward and Joyce Rogers, who are focusing on growing the club’s membership.

Celebrating Heritage with Dozynki Harvest Festival

And the excitement doesn’t stop there! Mark your calendars for the 46th annual Dozynki Harvest Festival happening this September at the Pope John Paul II Polish Center. Scheduled for September 20 and 21, this festival is a vibrant celebration of Polish culture and gratitude for the harvest.

With festival hours running from noon to 11 p.m. on the first day and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the second, attendees can enjoy a variety of traditional Polish foods, folk dancers, and fun games for the little ones. As if that weren’t enough, festival-goers will also be entertained by a concert featuring Trio Stekla, ensuring that there’s something for everyone.

For those feeling lucky, there will be cash prizes at the festival, with raffle tickets priced at just $5. Winners will walk away with prizes of $5,000, $3,000, and $1,000—definitely a great way to celebrate this cherished community event! The Polish Center is located at 3999 Rose Drive in Yorba Linda.
