In 1951, seeking a new start, Sikora and her family immigrated to the United States, sponsored by her cousin. They settled in Cleveland, Ohio, where she soon met her future husband. The couple was married in 1954 and quickly began to raise their family together. In 1959, they relocated to California, initially settling in Garden Grove before moving to Anaheim.
In 1966, Karl’s husband opened Sikora’s Bakery in Garden Grove, and they later expanded with a second location in Anaheim. The Anaheim bakery quickly gained popularity and became the sole operating branch, known for its delectable offerings. While her husband focused on baking, Karl skillfully managed the front of the store, ensuring a smooth operation. The bakery became a favorite among locals, and after its closure, the Sikora family often fielded requests for its cherished recipes.
