News Summary

Anaheim has introduced two new multi-level parking garages designed to improve access to the Honda Center, contributing to the ongoing $4 billion OCVibe development. The garages provide 4,500 parking spaces for event attendees, with the public now able to utilize them without toll booth scanning. Future development projects in the area will bring new attractions, including restaurants and a concert theater. As part of broader renovations, the Honda Center is also enhancing its visitor experience with major improvements and innovative security screening technology.

Anaheim has unveiled two new multi-level parking garages to serve the Honda Center, marking a significant milestone in the ongoing $4 billion OCVibe development spearheaded by the Samueli family, who are the owners of the Anaheim Ducks. These garages, designed to enhance visitor access to events at the arena, provide a combined total of 4,500 new parking spaces.

With the public now able to utilize the garages, general parking is included with the purchase of event tickets, while preferred parking options are also available at an additional cost. Notably, Anaheim City officials have confirmed that there will not be any toll booth scanning; drivers can simply enter and park as they arrive at the facility.

Each of the new garages is situated for easy access. The “Cerritos Garage C” can be accessed from Douglass Road, while “Katella Garage K” is reachable via Katella Avenue. These multi-level structures are intended to accommodate a growing number of visitors attending not only Ducks hockey games and concerts at the Honda Center but also future developments planned for the west side of the area.

Future Developments and Improvements

The OCVibe project is set to bring substantial changes to the Anaheim region. Starting in 2026, the area will welcome a variety of new attractions, including restaurants, a concert theater with a capacity of 5,700 seats, as well as public spaces for community events. An exciting highlight will be OCVibe’s Market Hall, which will feature global culinary offerings through more than two dozen food stalls and bars.

As part of the project’s planning phase, roadwork and utility installations are currently underway, focused on supporting further phases of this extensive development. Future plans include the construction of 2,000 new apartments, parks, smaller performance venues, and two hotels. A third parking structure is additionally in the works to further ease access for residents and visitors.

Traffic Adjustments and Access

Among the logistical updates, South Douglass Road will undergo modifications, no longer extending past Katella Avenue to the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center. Instead, a new pedestrian bridge is being constructed to connect the train station directly to the Honda Center, improving access for those using public transport.

Despite these advancements, guests are advised to plan ahead and arrive early due to limited parking availability through the end of September. General parking for event ticket holders is expected to roll out in both garages starting in October, and preferred parking will no longer be available for purchase at that point.

Enhanced Visitor Experience at Honda Center

As part of ongoing improvements, the Honda Center itself is undergoing a $1 billion renovation plan. This initiative includes enhancements such as a grand five-story entrance, expanded concession areas, and new luxury seating options. The renovations aim to increase the overall visitor experience during events.

Additionally, the Honda Center is implementing a unique parking model identified as “the first of its kind at a U.S. arena.” As event guests enter the arena, they experience screening through Evolv’s Express® technology, with specific bag policies in place to enhance security and efficiency.

Unlike other ongoing projects, such as the negotiations related to Angel Stadium, the renovations at Honda Center are being financed solely by the Ducks owners, Henry and Susan Samueli, without any city funding involved. This distinction has drawn attention amid broader discussions about public-private partnerships in the region.

As the OCVibe development continues to unfold, it is poised to transform Anaheim into a vibrant hub for entertainment and community engagement, ensuring that the Honda Center remains a premier destination for fans and visitors alike.
