Ryan Blavout, alongside his wife, Cynthia, has been the driving force behind the show since taking over in 2022. Ryan’s more than 25 years of experience as both a vendor and customer has equipped him with invaluable insights into the vinyl culture. He stepped up to revitalize an event that started back in 1986, ensuring that it remains a community hub for anyone looking to connect through music.
Among the sea of attendees were Zoei Ma and her cousin Julianne Chen, who came specifically to hunt for jazz records. Their love for the genre is just one indication of the diverse musical tastes represented at the show. From die-hard collectors to curious newcomers, the event attracted a wide array of individuals united by their passion for music.
Manuel Rosales, a vendor from Vinyl Rose Records, shared how his journey of collecting records since 1992 has led him to engage his students with music at South El Monte High School. His story resonates with many as the show bridges generations through the universal language of music.
