Graduates joyously celebrate their achievements during the Commencement 2025 at Cal State Fullerton.
Cal State Fullerton (CSUF) is gearing up for its Commencement 2025 ceremonies from May 19 to May 22, honoring over 11,600 graduates. Expecting more than 100,000 attendees, events will highlight innovative research addressing societal issues such as aging and marine impacts. Notable projects will be recognized, and honorary doctorates awarded to distinguished individuals. The university continues to emphasize support for students, especially first-generation and underrepresented groups, throughout four days of morning and evening ceremonies.
Fullerton – Cal State Fullerton (CSUF) is preparing to celebrate the achievements of over 11,600 graduates during its Commencement 2025 ceremonies, which will occur from May 19 to May 22. The university is expecting a turnout of more than 100,000 attendees, comprised of graduates, family members, friends, faculty, and staff members throughout the celebratory week.
Of the 11,620 graduates, 9,778 are undergraduate students, and 1,842 are pursuing graduate degrees. Commencement ceremonies will take place at Titan Stadium and the Intramural Field. The university will use this occasion not only to recognize its graduates but also to highlight innovative research tackling significant societal issues such as aging, stress, and the impact of human activities on marine life.
Among the notable student research projects being honored are: Amirah Kambe’s investigation into the impact of Black Barbie on children’s self-image; Ariana Hartman’s journey as a Titan Radio DJ aspiring for a career in communications; and Anthony Attalla’s pivoting to a nursing path after his experience with COVID-19. Additional commendable projects include Kristine Vergara’s examination of technology in studying stress in older adults and Estrella Bonilla’s quest for innovative renewable energy solutions. M Smith, recognized as an Outstanding Senior, has been active in promoting health and well-being, while Outstanding Graduate Student Samantha Guzman has fervently advocated for marginalized voices in higher education. Meanwhile, Tabitha Martinez has focused her research on the human impacts affecting coastal hermit crabs.
Noteworthy honorary doctorates will be awarded during the ceremonies including Vikki Vargas, a CSUF alumna and former NBC news bureau chief, as well as Martha Blanding, a Disney Legends Award recipient. These accolades underscore the university’s commitment to academic excellence and community engagement.
The Class of 2024 also demonstrated academic success, with a total of 13,347 graduates, which included 11,390 undergraduates and 1,957 graduate students. The upcoming commencement events will feature both morning and evening ceremonies spanning the four-day period.
CSUF stands out as the largest institution within the California State University system and is the sole campus located in Orange County, offering over 122 degree programs.
