The sunny city of Anaheim, California was aglow with the brilliance of young, aspiring business minds from Delaware Valley during the recent Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) National Leadership Conference. This impressive gathering took place from June 29 to July 2, showcasing the hard work and talent of both high and middle school students who proudly represented their schools.

In total, nearly 11,000 students from over 2,000 middle and high schools across 48 U.S. states and territories participated in the conference. They eagerly confronted the competitive spirit within 100 business-related events that not only tested their skills but also provided them with a platform to shine. With a staggering sum of over $120,000 awarded in cash prizes, the stakes were high, and the excitement was palpable.

The conference featured more than 120 workshops offering enrichment and valuable insights into the world of business, enhancing participants’ knowledge and skills. In addition, students had the wonderful opportunity to network with representatives from more than 260 colleges, universities, and employers, paving the way for future career paths and making connections that could last a lifetime.

The accomplishments of Delaware Valley students were nothing short of spectacular. The FBLA Adviser for Delaware Valley expressed immense pride in the students, emphasizing their diligent effort and unwavering dedication. The students returned home not only with well-deserved recognition but also with newfound connections, boosted confidence, and clearer visions for their future careers.

Outstanding High School Results

Delaware Valley High School students made remarkable strides in various competitions:

  • Anna Vogel and Bennett Nielsen brought home a third place finish in the Local Chapter Annual Business Report and also achieved tenth in Broadcast Journalism.
  • Joseph Benavides, Elizabeth Bailey, Carl Wallenberg, and Shannon O’Leary secured the sixth spot in Parliamentary Procedure.
  • Additionally, Anna Vogel received top recognition in the Business Achievement Award: Capstone, placing in the Top 15.
  • Vidhi Patel, Queenie Yang, and Grace Holderith also made an impact, landing in the Top 15 for the Community Service Project.

Impressive Middle School Achievements

The success continued across the board for middle school students as well. From Delaware Valley Middle School, Lily Red shined brightly with a second place victory in the Annual Chapter Report, while Martha Nuhn followed right behind, securing fifth place in Video Game Design.

Meanwhile, at Dingman Delaware Middle School, students also showcased their prowess:

  • Veronica Martin and Skarlet DePutron claimed fourth place in Annual Chapter Report and fifth in Exploring Business Issues.
  • Deborah Kim and Shahed Bankasali Attar placed ninth in Exploring Business Ethics.

The achievements of the Delaware Valley students at the FBLA National Leadership Conference are a testament to their hard work, talent, and determination. As they return to their classrooms, these young leaders are sure to inspire their peers and continue to pave the way for even greater successes in future endeavors!
