Disneyland attractions undergoing refurbishment

News Summary

Disneyland in Anaheim will close seven attractions for seasonal refurbishments in preparation for its 70th anniversary celebration. The closures will start at the end of June and continue throughout July 2025. Key attractions such as Star Tours and the Incredicoaster will undergo significant updates. The maintenance is part of a commitment to enhance visitor experiences at the park, ensuring attractions are refreshed ahead of upcoming events and celebrations.

Disneyland, Anaheim, CA – Disneyland will temporarily close seven attractions for seasonal refurbishments starting in June 2025 as the park prepares for its milestone 70th anniversary on July 17, 2025. The closures, scheduled to occur throughout July, are part of the park’s regular maintenance and enhancement efforts.

The attractions set for closure include:

  • Star Tours
  • Incredicoaster
  • Pixar Pal-A-Round
  • Storybook Land Canal Boats
  • Casey Jr. Circus Train
  • Redwood Creek Challenge Trail
  • Main Street Cinema

Star Tours will be the first attraction to undergo refurbishment, closing on June 30, 2025. This extended closure will likely last until early August or longer, as the ride undergoes significant updates. Just weeks before the anniversary celebration, Pixar Pal-A-Round is scheduled to close from July 14 to July 24, while Main Street Cinema will be shut down on July 15 and 16 for the installation of the “Last Verse” video tribute. This tribute will honor the late songwriter Richard Sherman, featuring new lyrics for the beloved “It’s A Small World” song, and will debut on the park’s anniversary date.

Additionally, Redwood Creek Challenge Trail will be unavailable starting on July 21, followed by Incredicoaster and Casey Jr. Circus Train, both expected to close on July 28 for refurbishments that may last until at least early August.

These current closures are part of an extensive refurbishment plan, which also includes updated information on other rides. Matterhorn Bobsleds has been closed since early May, and the park has not yet confirmed a reopening date. Meanwhile, Enchanted Tiki Room is anticipated to reopen on July 2 following recent repairs. Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln has been closed since April and is expected to remain shut until fall 2026.

In a positive note for visitors, the Pixie Hollow meet-and-greet area in Fantasyland is set to reopen on June 29 after being closed since September 2024. Moreover, Disneyland continues to enhance its Monorail services in relation to the upcoming Avatar-themed land, further improving guest experiences.

The refurbishments come at a crucial time as Disneyland gears up for the return of its Oogie Boogie Bash event on August 17, necessitating timely reopenings of rides and attractions. The adjustments are expected to cater to increased visitor demand coinciding with both the anniversary celebrations and the annual Halloween festivities.

This round of closures reflects Disneyland’s commitment to providing a high-quality experience for its guests, ensuring that rides are refreshed and updated regularly. As the park approaches its significant 70th anniversary, guests can look forward to both familiar attractions and new enhancements, contributing to the lasting legacy of Disneyland as the happiest place on Earth.
