Karen Lee Moffitt, aged 74, passed away on April 26, 2025, in Goodyear, AZ, with her husband, Max Lee Moffitt, Jr., by her side. Born on September 16, 1950, in Inglewood, CA, Karen’s early life was spent in Anaheim, where she graduated from Magnolia High School in 1968.

She married her high school sweetheart, Max, on June 13, 1970, in Los Angeles. The couple initially settled in China Lake, CA, in June 1974 and later moved to Ridgecrest, CA, where they lived until June 2020 before relocating to Goodyear.

Throughout her life, Karen was remembered as a loving partner and friend, known for her adventurous spirit and commitment to her family. Her passing marks the end of a vibrant life filled with memories and the warmth she brought to those around her.

Eric Patterson, Strongman Legend and Veteran

Eric Patterson, a notable figure in both the veteran and strongman communities, passed away on March 23, 2025, in Goodyear, Arizona. Born on May 16, 1969, in Tokyo, Japan, Eric was a proud veteran of the Marine Corps and had a 27-year career as a truck driver, being an active member of the Teamsters.

Highly regarded in the strongman community, he maintained numerous state and national records, achieving several professional qualifications throughout his bodybuilding, powerlifting, and strongman competitions. Eric also devoted himself to his family, including his beloved partner, Diane Villa, and his three cherished children: Braxton Patterson, Lex Proudfit, and Eric Logan Maximus Patterson. He also leaves behind four adoring grandchildren.
