Emma Marroquin Fragoso

Emma Marroquin Fragoso, born on January 18, 1947, passed away at the age of 78 on May 16, 2025. A resident of Anaheim, she will have an overnight visitation on May 29, 2025, beginning at 3:00 PM at the family residence. The funeral service is set for May 30, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Boniface Catholic Church, located at 120 N Janss St, Anaheim, CA 92805. Following the church service, there will be a graveside service at Our Lady of Guadalupe Lawn in Fairhaven Memorial Park at 1702 Fairhaven Ave, Santa Ana, CA 92705.

Robert Murphy Bohanan

Robert Murphy Bohanan, who was 87 at the time of his passing on March 15, 2025, was born on August 15, 1937. A Navy veteran and resident of Anaheim, Bohanan graduated from Pitman High School in 1956 and spent one year at the University of Maryland before enlisting. He married Nuvia Leon and was a dedicated father to his two sons, Robert and Rodney. Unfortunately, he was preceded in death by many close family members. Visitation is scheduled for March 29, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Anaheim, located at 2425 West Lincoln Ave, Anaheim, CA 92801, with a funeral service also on the same day starting at 4:00 PM.

Joan Karcher

Born on November 22, 1927, in Tiffin, Ohio, Joan Karcher passed away on December 19, 2024, at the ripe age of 97. She played a significant role in her family’s legacy after moving to California in 1963 and becoming involved in the Carl’s Jr. restaurant business. In May 1984, she founded Bernard Karcher Investments and became the first franchisee of Carl’s Jr. Karcher is survived by her sister, six children, 17 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. A funeral service is scheduled for January 7, 2025, at 10:00 AM at San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church in Anaheim Hills, with a reception to follow. Her family has requested donations in her name to St. Joseph’s Hospital, CHOC, Mercy House, or San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church.

Gail Marie Karjala

Gail Marie Karjala passed away on March 15, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on June 10, 1944, in New York, she married Lee R. Karjala in 1965 and devoted her life to raising their three children: Sherie, Ken, and Mike. Gail was a dedicated co-owner and office manager at their photography studio for 26 years. She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Visitation will take place on March 29, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Funeraria Del Angel Anaheim, with a funeral service immediately following from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. A graveside service is planned for the same day at 1:00 PM at Forest Lawn located at 4471 Lincoln Ave, Cypress, CA 90630.
